The JMM Archive

About

A reference built on provenance, not assertion.

The JMM Archive is an independent, community-maintained catalog of documented Jacques Marie Mage eyewear releases. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the brand. Its purpose is narrow and deliberate: to record what is publicly known about each release — launch date, edition size, collaboration, materials, dimensions — and, just as importantly, how well each of those facts is established.

Most eyewear references present a single tidy value per field and ask you to trust it. This one does the opposite. Every field carries a visible verification state and a trail back to its sources, so you can weigh the evidence yourself.

How data is collected

Records begin as information gathered from public sources: the brand’s own listings and edition cards, authorized retailers, press coverage, and collector communities. Scraped values enter the archive marked unverified until a contributor confirms them against a primary or authoritative source.

When two credible sources disagree — a common occurrence with edition sizes and colorway names — we do not silently pick a winner. The field is marked conflicting and both values are preserved with their sources, visible on hover or click.

What the indicators mean

Each field on each record shows one of four states. A solid dot is not a claim of perfection — only that the value has been checked against a source we consider authoritative.

Verified
Confirmed against a primary or authoritative source.
Unverified
Pulled from a secondary source and not yet independently confirmed.
Conflicting
Sources disagree on this value.
Missing
No data recorded yet — contributions welcome.

A subtle but important detail: a verified em-dash means we have confirmed there is nothing to record (for example, no collaboration), whereas a missing em-dash means we simply don’t know yet.

How to contribute

Corrections and additions are welcome — especially ones that come with a source link. The most valuable contributions confirm unverified fields, resolve conflicts with a definitive source, or fill in missing measurements.

There are two ways to contribute, both reviewed before publishing:

  1. Edit an existing frame. Open any frame and choose Suggest an edit to correct or fill in its details — the form is pre-filled with what we currently have.
  2. Submit a missing frame. Use the Contribute page to propose a release that isn’t in the archive yet.

Every submission enters a review queue. A maintainer checks it against sources before it appears, and approved community values are marked unverified until independently confirmed.
